As early members of the Inter-Ac League, The Haverford School and The Episcopal Academy have been longtime rivals in many different sports.
In the fall, the two schools compete on HS/EA day (or vice versa for EA) for the coveted sweater. The sweater is half of a HS Lower School Sweater sewn together with half of an EA Lower School Sweater. This tradition began in the mid 1960's. The winner for that year has the year sewn on their side, and the sweater resides at the winning team's school for the entire year.
There are 5 competitions that day: Cross Country, Golf, Football, Soccer and Water Polo.
In football, HS and EA have met 103 times. The "100th Game" in 2009 was televised on Comcast Sports Network and played in front of close to 5,000 fans. HS prevailed by a score of 26 - 19.
All time record: HS 56 Wins EA 45 Wins 2 Ties
