With an 18-14 win over Germantown Academy, The Haverford School snapped an eight-game losing streak in Inter-Ac League competition. The Fords slipped into a 14-point hole in the first quarter, but remained composed and responded with three unanswered scores. Haverford (4-6) will finish out the season this weekend against Episcopal Academy.
Quarterback Danny Judge went over the 1,000-yard mark for the season against Germantown Academy, as he packaged 118 rushing yards and 69 passing yards. The dual-threat signal caller has thrown for 652 yards and has run for 532 yards. Meanwhile, Terance Fitzsimmons ran for 103 yards, raising his season total to 540.
While the Fords struggled to a one-win season last year, it’s obvious third-year coach Mike Murphy has the program moving forward. In addition to its four victories, Haverford was in position to win games against Radnor and Archbishop Carroll, which has qualified for the Catholic League Blue Division playoffs.
